On Sunday 5th June from 12pm-3pm in the Public Gardens, Alton will join communities across the UK and come together for The Big Jubilee Lunch as part of the official celebrations for HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee!
Join millions of people across the UK to share friendship, food and fun with The Big Jubilee Lunch. There will be a live performance from the Alton Concert Band from 1pm-3pm, Royal themed yarn bombing around the gardens and even a Royal selfie station.
Bring along your deck chairs and picnic hampers or pre-order a picnic graze box from local independent café Blend-it to be collected between 12pm-1pm at the event. The picnic boxes serve 4-6 people and cost £25 with £3 from each box being donated to support families affected by the crisis in the Ukraine. Acorns Coffee and Cake pod will also be open in the gardens should you wish to purchase refreshments on the day.
To add to the party spirit do bring along your own jubilee decorations to adorn your picnic spot and Royal themed fancy dress and accessories for the occasion. It’s a great excuse to let the little ones (and their grownups) feel like royalty for the day – you could dig out your favourite Disney Princess or Hero costume from home, get creative and make your own, recycle something from a charity shop, or purchase Jubilee themed merchandise and accessories for the occasion.
Everyone's invited to the party, so let's have fun and get to know one another a little better at Alton’s Big Jubilee Picnic Lunch!
