On arrival you will be given your calligraphy kit to use during the session. There will be plenty of one-to-one time during the group workshop so each student has enough time & attention to help develop their own style and go at their own pace.
You will learn the basic strokes, practice writing the alphabet, learn how to join up the letters to make full words and learn how to flourish.
By the end of the workshop you will have learned the basics of modern calligraphy and have your very own kit of materials to take home and keep practising!
Since we’re at Chawton House, you’ll also be given some wonderful Jane Austen quotes to use as inspiration – or you’re welcome to create your own!
The workshop will finish at 14:30pm, just in time for lunch – why not explore the house and make use of the Old Kitchen Tearoom? The menu can be found here.
The cost of the workshop is £65. Each attendee will be given a basic starter kit including tools and learning resources, to take home. Light refreshments are provided, such as tea, coffee and cake.
To book, call us on 01420 541010 or book online here (subject to Eventbrite booking fee).
If you are unable to make the workshop date/s as shown, please get in contact with Louisa Carpenter at Chawton house to register your interest. Her email address is: email@example.com
