Join the 'English Civil War Society' on Sunday 1st or Monday 2nd of May (same event repeated on both days) for a re-enactment of the Battle of Alton.
10am-5pm - Living History display in St Lawrence Churchyard
12pm - Drill Display in the High Street opposite the Assembly Rooms
1.30pm - March from Normandy Street, through the High Street to Flood Meadows
2pm - Battle re-enactment in Flood Meadows (get there early if you want a good view or volunteer as a marshal as this will be very popular with spectators)
4pm - Smaller skirmish finale battle around St Lawrence Churchyard.
If you would like to help make this event possible for the community to enjoy we are looking for volunteer marshals (no experience necessary as full briefing will be given on the day) please email support@alton.gov.uk
Please Note: for the safety of the event there will be road closures around the town centre from 11.30am-2pm and around St Lawrence Church area from 2pm-5pm.
