Alton Town Council’s traditional Pancake Race will be held on Tuesday 18th February, during the school half term.
Registration will open at 10.45am on the day in Alton’s Public Gardens, with the first races starting at 11.30am.
Races will take place along the Lime Tree Avenue, with individual races for the children and team relay races in which groups of friends, local businesses, charities and community groups are invited to join in the fun of the day.
Fancy dress is encouraged, adding to the frivolity of this well attended Alton event with a prize up for grabs for the best dressed participant.
Pancake Race categories are as follows:
Nutella - preschool children
Lemon & Sugar – ages 4-7years
Milk - ages 8-11years
Flour - ages 12-16years
Eggs - relay race for teams of up to 8 people
Entrance is just £1.00 per child or £5.00 per team
To add to the enjoyment of the morning there will be delicious complimentary hot pancakes served to all, courtesy of the ‘Greater Alton Project Churches’ pancake station.
Please Note: If the weather is wet the event will relocate to St Lawrence Parish Centre, Vicarage Hill, Alton, where delicious free hot pancakes will be served from 11.00am – midday.
