Alton Model Railway Group Open Day

Alton Model Railway Group hold an Open Day for prospective new members. Group layouts in ‘OO’, O and American HO will be on display/operating.

The Group test track (N, OO, O, DC and DCC) will also be available so if you have a locomotive/train that does not run well, bring it with you and a member will be pleased to look at it for you.

Alternatively if you are unable to attend on the day the Group meets every Thursday at the Alton Maltings from 6pm to 10pm.

Membership of the group is open to anyone over the age of 18, of any railway modelling interest.

Prospective new members are welcome to come along to our meetings for a few weeks to see if they get on with us and we get on with them.

The Group has the following sections/layouts:

Welles – OO scale DCC GWR branch line through station – currently being extended/refurbished.

Southolt – O scale DC LNWR based in West London – in the final stages of construction.

Pine Bluffs – HO scale DCC American, Colorado based single track main line operation.

Planning is also underway to build a OO gauge main line through station layout.
