Once again Alton's High Street will be filled with fantastic flavours and aromas coming from the food festival on Saturday 11 July.
Over 50 food and drink stalls plus many of the local food shops, bars and restaurants will join in the spirit of the food festival.
You will be able to find some wonderful delicacies such as local organic food products, local cheeses, ice cream, olives, Italian bread and cakes, jams and chutneys, herbs and plants, smoothies and shakes just to name a few.
To bring all this to life we will have local chefs making fantastic healthy family recipes with ingredients sourced from the local shops and market stalls.
We are also supporting the governments Change4Life Campaign which promotes healthy living for children and will be offering healthy recipes that will suit families and can also be scaled down for one or two people. We will also be running a food themed window dressing competition for the local shops and businesses to take part in and local dance troupe Mint Condition dance troupe will be performing.
We hope you that the whole family will come along to this annual event of which most is FREE for a great day out and enjoy tasting some great food SEEING SOME
Attention all young chefs and cooks out there.
How would you like to be part of the Alton Food Festival and enter our Healthy Biscuit Competition for Children
This year our food festival will introduce an element of healthy eating into our event and we want all children to bring along a healthy biscuit that they have cooked themselves.
The competition is open to all children up to the age of 12
All you have to do is register your entry at The Food Demonstration unit before 12pm and the winner will be announced at 3.15 pm.
Just bring along 4 of your biscuits for the judges with the recipe and ingredients and you could win a fantastic prize.
All we need is your parents name and your name and which age group either under 5 or over 5 and under 12 and you could be a winner.
