Digital Photography for Beginners

An introduction to the basic and more advanced functions of your camera to help you take photos to be proud of.

Course runs over 5 sessions, Monday 4 May - Monday 8 June 2020. Note that there is no class on Monday 25 May.

Learning Goals (by the end of the course you will be able to)

  • Demonstrate how your camera works
  • Describe the importance of, and relationship between, aperture and shutter speed
  • Demonstrate the principles of good composition

About the Course.

No previous experience is required for this course although a basic understanding of your camera would be helpful. You will be encouraged to take photos in the classroom/outside and explore the features on the camera as they are discussed.

You will need:

  • A digital camera and compatible memory card and charged batteries

This Course could lead to:

Introduction to Adobe Photoshop Elements Photographic Composition Workshop.

Attendance is expected at each session to ensure that you get the most out of your learning experience and to minimise disruption for other learners. Please advise the venue/tutor of any absence you may have.
