Course: Make a Round Willow Tray

Learn simple traditional basketry techniques by making a charming and useful round willow tray to take home.

Learning Goals (by the end of the course you will be able to):

  • Describe the properties of willow
  • Use a pairing weave
  • Use a three rod wale weave
  • Complete a ‘stake and strand ‘ method of basketry
  • Finish the project by creating a willow border
  • Create a round willow tray

About the Course Previous knowledge/experience: None required

Please note that a degree of manual dexterity is required for this workshop

For the first session you will need to buy/bring: Own set of sharp secateurs if you have some.
