Talk: Lace and Larceny - Jane Austen's Awful Auntie?

In this talk, we will find out more about Jane Austen's aunt, Mrs Leigh Perrot

On display in the Museum, as part of our Family, Friendship and Northanger Abbey displays, is a contemporary account of Mrs Leigh Perrot's trial for stealing lace from a shop in Bath. Come and discover the full story behind this Austen family scandal, including how Jane Austen nearly ended up in prison herself!

This event will take place in the Learning Centre which has a maximum capacity. Admittance will be on a first come first served basis.
