Now in its sixth year, the Alton Teddy Bear Festival returns to the Hampshire market town on Saturday 16th June 2018. Held at the historic Alton Assembly Rooms, the increasingly popular event attracts visitors and exhibitors from around the world. Organiser Jane Griffin says it is important that the Teddy Festival offers plenty for everyone. There is family fun to entertain young bear enthusiasts and everything serious collectors need. Jane builds on her experience from previous events to bring in new ideas every year. Her teddy clothing business, Dooby's Knitting Needles, is named after her own bear and will be there on the day to offer bespoke designer fashion for discerning and well turned out bears. This year's Teddy Fest will also feature Bear It In Mind who featured on the BBC2 show the Repair Shop, Jan's Tiddy, Dari Laut Bears and many other exhibitors of pre-loved bears, Charlie Bears, OOAK and handmade bears of all shapes and sizes.
There will be plenty to choose from whether people are looking for a special new bear to add to their collection or treats for their favourite ted plus, novice and experienced makers can get kits and supplies from Bear Basics.
Ever popular with children is Grandpa's Pre-Loved Bears, offering a large selection of good quality 'rescued' bears, available at very reasonable prices. Even the Travelling Teddy Bear comes all the way from Germany every year to meet all his furry friends and share his adventures. As Jane says, 'However old you are, the Alton Teddy Bear Festival is a delightful way to spend the day and maybe a special bear will become part of your life.' Even if you are not in the market for a new bear there is always Teddy's Tea Room and a range of delicious cakes to choose from.
We hope to see you there.
