Discover the Jane Austen Collection

Drop-in session where local historian Jane Hurst and Alton Library staff will be on hand to show you Hampshire Library Service's Jane Austen collection of books and talk about them.

Regency Week

Unbeknown to many, Alton Library houses the Hampshire Library Service's Jane Austen collection of books. This contains material that covers the life and works of the author as well as linked to places and organisations. Many of the books are available for loan.

This is a drop-in seesion where local historian Jane Hurst and the library staff will be on hand to show you the books and talk about them.

The Jane Austen Regency Week is run on a non-commercial basis by a group of volunteers and participating organisations. It is funded through ticket sales, grants from Alton Town Council and East Hampshire District Council, and by advertisers in our programme.
