Chawton Guided Walk

Chawton Guided Walk

Whilst many people visit Chawton to see Jane Austen's House Museum and Chawton House Library, there are many more buildings and former residents of Chawton who were connected with Jane Austen and her family

Regency Week

Your guide, Jane Hurst, is very knowledgeable, so you will be able to ask questions as the tour progresses.

Note that some pavements are uneven, so it is important to wear sensible shoes.

The Shire horses from Chawton House Library will also be in the village for you to admire.

The walk will take around 1½hours, finishing where the walk started, or you can choose to stop off at the Vintage Fair on the way back.

The walk starts on the Alton side of the A31 underpass, at the end of the Old Winchester Road. You can park in the road.
